Attendance Policy

Regular attendance at CTA increases opportunities for students to gain critical life skills that will benefit them upon completion of CTA. Transition students attend CTA according to their individual schedule. In case of student illness, please contact the school at 801-826-5335 by 8:30 a.m. We encourage students, who are able, to notify the school if they are going to be absent by calling CTA, clearly stating their first and last name, and why they will be absent.
If the student is going to be late, contact the teacher to determine a time and place the student can meet the group in the community.

Transition students are required to learn to use public transportation as a means to access activities in the community and to get to and from school. CTA staff will provide training and support to help students become as independent as possible. Monthly passes will be provided for students. Parents who choose not to have their student use public transportation, walk, or ride their bike to and from school will be responsible for drop off and pick up. Students should not be dropped off before 8:30 a.m. and picked up no later than 3:00 p.m., as there will not be staff available for supervision.
