Canyons Transition Academy PTSA Meeting

In Attendance: Nate Edvalson (PTSA Administration VP), Betty Shaw (PTSA President), Brooke D’Sousa (PTSA Legislative VP), Kim Garrard (PTSA Treasurer), Brooke Heumann (PTSA Teacher VP), and Julie Moore (PTSA Secretary)
Excused: DeeAnn Pratt (PTSA President-Elect)
Welcome by Betty Shaw
A motion was made by Kimberly Garrard to approve the Agenda and Julie Moore seconded the motion. The agenda passed unanimously.
The minutes from the PTSA meeting held on April 23, 2020 were emailed to board members prior to the meeting.
A motion to approve the minutes was made by Brooke D’Sousa and Kimberly Garrard seconded the motion.The minutes were approved unanimously.
Treasurer’s report by Kimberly Garrard.
Previous balance – $994.58
$383.58 spent on Teacher appreciation
New total of $611.01
Student Day at the Capital reimbursement still coming in the next few days.
PTSA memberships are still at 37 which is a good number for a first year. We will work on getting more memberships for next year. Susan Edwards needs to know how we plan on having parents sign up for next year. A discussion was held on Member Hub having issues because a link is needed to join. Kimberly Garrard will check to see if there is a link to connect through Square. Susan Edwards needs information by May 29th.
Betty Shaw requested input at a future meeting from Nate Edvalson and Brooke Heumann on suggestions for field trips for next year that can be included in the budget.
For Teacher Appreciation teachers were given gift cards and Crumble cookies. A digital thank you card was sent by staff.
It was suggested by Nate Edvalson to have a PTA representative at next year’s end of year wrap up meeting with the teachers.
Brooke D’Sousa was thanked for recognizing the 13 graduates with yard signs and a visit by staff and PTSA board members.
PTA Workshop Wednesdays are ongoing and past workshops are recorded and can be viewed at www.utahpta.org/university.
There was not a future meeting scheduled at this time.
The Zoom meeting concluded at 5:35 pm.
